About Tensor Tires
Launched in 2013, Tensor is a tire company that develops and manufactures UTV tires for off-road expeditions, racing and other similar activities. According to the company, Tensor Tire was launched to provide full-time racers and weekend warriors with high-quality tires.
Most Popular Tensor Tires
Currently, Tensor Tire has three tires in its product line. These are the Tensor Desert Series, Tensor Desert Series Race and the Tensor Regulator A/T. Let’s take a closer look at these different Tensor tires and see what they offer racers and weekend warriors.
Desert Series
The Tensor Desert Series is an off-road tire, specifically built for motorsports UTVs. According to the manufacturer, it’s one of the best performing tires in its category.
Key Features
Tensor has provisioned the Desert Series with thick tread blocks, designed to allow custom grooving. Thanks to this feature, Tensor Tire gives you the option to fine-tune or custom groove this tire for enhanced tread conformability. Also, you can custom-groove this tire to add more biting edges, which translates to better performances in tricky terrains.
The Tensor Desert Series also features ribbed sidewall shoulders. These ribbed sidewall shoulders help to deliver a higher level of puncture resistance. As you may have noticed, off-road terrains are filled with abrasive elements and materials, which can damage a tire’s sidewall. But with the ribbed sidewall shoulders on this tire, you don’t have to worry about such issues.
Sizes and Fitment
The Tensor Desert Series is currently available in three distinct sizes. These sizes range between 14 inches and 15 inches. You also have the option of choosing a hard compound model or soft compound model, depending on where you intend to use the tire or the racing conditions that you anticipate.
Price Range
Prices for the Tensor Desert Series range between $220 and $330, depending on the size or compound that you choose. Hence, a set of four Tensor Desert Series tires may cost you around $880 to $1,320.
Verdict
The Tensor Desert Series is the ideal choice for off-roaders who are looking for a capable and dependable UTV tire. Whether you are looking for a lighter and smaller tire for your UTV or you frequently tackle smaller and tighter courses, the Tensor Desert Series will be a perfect match for your UTV. While this tire’s price may appear as if it’s on the higher side, its quality and performance are better than most of the others in its class.
Desert Series Race
As its name suggests, the Tensor Desert Series Race is a race-inspired tire, specifically built for UTVs. According to Tensor Tire, this competition-legal UTV race tire is designed for off-road enthusiasts who are looking for a tire that can perform at the highest levels.
Key Features
Tensor Tire has provisioned the Desert Series Race with a couple of impressive features, designed to enhance its performance.
First, the Desert Series Race features a closed tread pattern, which helps to minimize drivetrain strain, without lowering the level of grip and traction. As a result, it will allow your vehicle to move at higher speeds and save fuel, without sacrificing traction.
Second, this tire comes with a flatter and larger contact patch. Thanks to this design, this tire is able to deliver superior, fast and timely steering response. Also, the larger contact patch on this tire helps to reduce the braking distances.
Third, Tensor Tire has also provisioned the Desert Series Race with more biting edges on its tread. The higher number of biting edges helps to deliver faster acceleration and give you an edge over your competitors at the track.
Fourth, the Desert Series Race also features weight-optimized ribs on its shoulders. These ribs help to protect the sidewall against punctures, which may be caused by abrasive elements and surfaces.
It’s also worth mentioning that Tensor has applied its proprietary construction technology on this tire, which helps to reduce its overall weight considerably. And this results in minimal rolling resistance, faster movement and enhanced fuel efficiency.
Sizes and Fitment
There are only two sizes available for this tire at the moment. Both sizes are different variations of a 15-inch tire. So, if you happen to drive a 15-inch UTV and you are looking for a race-inspired tire, then you should check out the Tensor Desert Series Race.
Price Range
The Desert Series Race will cost you approximately $290 to $330 for a tire. So, if you decide to outfit your racing UTV with a set of four Desert Series Race tires, you can expect to fork out around $1,160 to $1,320, depending on the size you choose or where you buy your set.
Verdict
If you are in the market for a competition-legal UTV racing tire, then the Tensor Tire Desert Series Race is just what you need. Its traction is decent, the steering response is great and its construction is sturdy. And with its lightweight construction, you can expect this tire to save you money on fuel.
Regulator A/T
Whether you use your ATV/UTV for work-related activities or leisure, you will need to equip it with a set of tires that can comfortably tackle different trails and terrains. And that tire is none other than the Tensor Tire Regulator A/T. As its name suggests, the Regulator A/T is an all-terrain tire, built to be used on a wide range of terrains and conditions.
Key Features
Tensor Tire has equipped the Regulator A/T with numerous features and technologies. These features and technologies are designed to enable this tire to deliver top-notch performances, regardless of the conditions or terrains that you encounter.
First, the Regulator A/T features a wide footprint, which helps to increase the tire's contact with the ground. This larger contact patch helps the tire to deliver enhanced handling and steering response, combined with shorter braking distances.
Second, the Tensor Regulator A/T comes with an optimized tread pattern. The optimized tread pattern is designed to give you a quiet, smooth and comfortable ride, even when you encounter bumpy trails or rough surfaces.
Third, the Regulator A/T sports deep lug treads throughout its shoulders. These lug treads help to enhance the tire’s traction, especially when you are navigating through tight corners.
Fourth, this all-terrain ATV/UTV tire also features steel-belted inner construction, which works in tandem with the outer bead, to make sure that this tire’s air pressure remains stable and consistent, regardless of the weather conditions.
Fifth, the Tensor Regulator A/T also comes with an eight-ply construction, featuring an extra nylon reinforcement layer. Therefore, regardless of how tough or challenging the trail conditions are, you don’t have to worry about chips or cuts.
You should also note that the Tensor Regulator A/T is DOT-approved, meaning you can safely drive it on paved roads. And, this makes it a great tire for cruising around the neighborhood with your ATV/UTV or simply shuttling between the parking lot and the trail, and vice-versa.
Sizes and Fitment
There are around six sizes available for this tire. They include a single 12-inch size, three 14-inch sizes and two 15-inch sizes.
Price Range
If you are looking to install a set of this tire on your ATV or UTV, you may be probably wondering how much they will cost you. Well, its prices are within the range of this type of tires. On average, the Tensor Regulator A/T will cost you around $230 to $360 for one tire, meaning a set will be around $690 to $1,080. Where you purchase your set and the size you choose will determine the actual cost.
Verdict
The Tensor Regulator A/T is a feature-rich ATV/UTV tire, designed to deliver the best cornering and traction possible. It’s sturdy, durable, and surprisingly comfortable. So, if you need a tire that can perform well both on paved and unpaved surfaces, then you shouldn’t look any further than the Regulator A/T.
Tensor Tires Warranties and Guarantees
Tensor Tire stands behind all its Regulator Series ATV and UTV tires with a workmanship and materials warranty. According to Tensor, every tire that it releases should be free from defects in workmanship and materials.
Hence, if you buy a tire from this company and it fails due to workmanship or materials defects, Tensor Tire will replace the faulty tire with a comparable new one. However, Tensor Tire will only provide a free tire, meaning you will be responsible for its mounting, balancing and other costs that may arise from this installation.
Tensor will not replace tires that fail due to defects caused by neglect, abuse, misuse, irregular wear, incorrect mounting and dismounting procedures, chemicals, corrosion, shipping and handling.
Also, tires that have been altered in any way, be it plugging, unauthorized repairs, patching or addition of liquid sealants will not be eligible to be replaced under this Tensor Tire warranty, regardless of when they become unserviceable.
Furthermore, using your tires for racing or competitive events automatically disqualifies them from being replaced under this warranty, due to the conditions that the tires are subjected to. This warranty covers eligible tires for two years from their purchase date.
You should note that the Desert Series tires, that’s the Desert Series and the Desert Series Race are not covered under this warranty, since they have not been tested in line with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. According to Tensor Tire, the Desert Series tires have been specifically produced for racing. Hence, they shouldn’t be used for daily driving.

Unmatched Dependability
Tensor Tire produces highly dependable tires. Whether you are exploring rugged off-road terrains with your ATV/UTV or you are racing in extreme desert conditions, as long as you have outfitted your vehicle with Tensor Tires, you can rest assured it will get the job done.
