8 Best Tires For Ford EcoSport
The Ford EcoSport is the newest addition to Ford’s lineup of crossovers and SUVs, slotting itself in at just a bit below the popular Ford Escape in terms of size and class. Although released overseas on and off since 2003, it recently came over the United States for release just back in 2018.
With the EcoSport coming up on a few years since release in the US, owners across the country will soon be facing the reality that the OEM tires have worn out and need to be replaced. Nobody looks forward to that day, but it’s the inevitable reality of driving a car.
One of the good things about the EcoSport only being a few years old is that there’s only been one generation offered in the states, with no facelifts or changes to the wheel or tire sizes.
That said, there are only two possible sizes: 205/60R16 & 205/70R17. This makes it a little easier to find the perfect tire, but it only narrows it down to a few hundred options.
That’s where we come in. To make the tire search as easy as possible, we’ve combed through all the options out there and come up with this comprehensive list of the best ones available. So without further ado, here are the 8 best tires on the market for a Ford EcoSport:
Michelin Premier A/S — Best All-Season
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/michelin-premier-a-s"}}
All things considered that go into a great all-season tire — tread life, traction, safety, comfort, etc. — the best option on the market for a Ford EcoSport is without a doubt the Michelin Premier A/S.
With Michelin’s proprietary Evergrip Technology, the Premier A/S (which stands for all-season) uses a special tread compound high in Silica content for grip and traction on all roads during all conditions. Dry, wet, and even light snow weather conditions are no problem for the Premier A/S.
Evergrip Technology not only provides class-leading traction, but it also offers wet-braking technology that allows the EcoSport to stop much more quickly in adverse weather conditions than it could on other tires.
The Premier A/S is also one of Michelin’s Total Performance tires, meaning that it utilizes various technologies to provide enhanced abilities across the board including stopping power, traction and control, fuel efficiency, and more.
So anyone in the market for a new set of high-quality all-season tires for their Ford EcoSport should look no further than the Michelin Premier A/S. Offered in both sizes that come on the Ford EcoSport — 205/60R16 and 205/50R17 — the Premier is a no-brainer when looking for new tires.

FAQ
What is the tread life warranty?
The Michelin Premier all-season comes with a 60,000-mile tread life warranty. It’s right in the middle of the pack in its class, with some tires offering a longer warranty and many coming with warranties far shorter.
What is EverGrip Technology?
EverGrip Technology from Michelin was developed to work in conjunction with the silica-enriched tread compound and enhance traction and grip in all road conditions: dry, wet, and even light snow.
Are these quiet to drive on?
The Premier all-season is incredibly quiet and comfortable to drive on. The special rubber compound that provides a somewhat shorter 60,000-mile tread life warranty sacrifices lifetime for more comfort and noise reduction.
Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring — Best Touring
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/cooper-cs5-ultra-touring"}}
From one of the biggest tire manufacturers in the world comes the best touring tire on the market for the Ford EcoSport, the Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring. Often confused with the CS5 Grand Touring tire, the Ultra Touring is actually the better of the two, especially for a Ford EcoSport.
As an all-season tire, the CS5 Ultra Touring provides grip and traction in all road conditions throughout the year. Its silica-based tread compound provides traction on dry and wet roads and even during light snow.
3D sipes and circumferential grooves channel water away from the center of the tread to allow the contact patch to remain in full contact with the road, offering enhanced traction. The softer tread compound also provides a more comfortable ride than other tires in its class that come with a bit longer tread life warranty.
Offered in a few different speed ratings (H, V, and W), the CS5 Ultra Touring can be chosen for your performance needs based on what you’re really wanting to get out of the tire and your Ford EcoSport.
Designed specifically for passenger cars and crossovers, the CS5 Ultra Touring comes in both possible sizes for a Ford EcoSport — 205/60R16 & 205/50R17. So no matter which model EcoSport you have, finding a set of CS5 Ultra Tourings will be no issue.

FAQ
How long do these tires last?
The CS5 Ultra Touring tires come with a 70,000-mile tread life warranty, but customers have gotten even more out of these tires regularly. Their contemporary, the CS5 Grand Touring, lasts for 80,000 miles, which seems to be the common lifetime of these as well.
What sizes are offered?
The CS5 Ultra Touring is available in tall the make passenger car and crossover tire sires from 15” through 20” wheel diameters. For the Ford EcoSport, the CS5 Ultra Touring comes in both possible sizes of 205/60R16 and 205/50R17.
What makes the CS5 Ultra Touring a good touring tire?
A great touring tire will focus on two main attributes — comfort and tread life. The CS5 Ultra Touring does both of these extremely well with its 70,000-mile tread life warranty and a slightly softer tread compound than the popular CS5 Grand Touring for additional comfort.
BFGoodrich g-FORCE Sport COMP-2 — Best Summer
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/bfgoodrich-g-force-comp-2-a-s"}}
With the Ford EcoSport being a compact crossover SUV that’s a bit more spirited than the larger SUVs on the market, owners might be looking for a bit more performance-oriented tire to really put the EcoSport to the test during the summer. That’s where the BFGoodrich Sport COMP-2 comes into play.
As an ultra-high performance summer tire, the Sport COMP-2 provides uncompromised summer performance, traction, and grip that really lets Ford EcoSport owners test their vehicle’s limits.
Developed using race-inspired technologies, the Sport COMP-2 was made originally for the Ford Racing High Performance Driving School. That should give EcoSport owners an idea of just how performance-oriented this tire really is.
With its silica-infused tread compound — the tread compound is actually called COMP-2 — this tire offers traction and grip in the summer better than anything else in its class. Combined with special shoulder blocks and various ribs, the Sport COMP-2 provides the driver with optimal performance.
Offered in the sportier tire sizes from 16” through 22” wheel sizes, the Sport COMP-2 is easy to put on a Ford EcoSport. The models that come with 205/50R17 tires have a direct replacement. The 16” wheel package models will need to go from a 205/60R16 to something with a smaller sidewall, like a 205/55R16.

- UTQG Temperature: A

FAQ
What makes this an ultra-high performance tire?
BFGoodrich’s COMP-2 tread compound is silica-infused and inspired by various racing technologies including steering response, traction, and aggressive cornering. All combined, it offers ultra-high performance that you won’t get out of normal all-season tires.
Can I drive on these in the snow?
As a dedicated ultra-high performance summer tire, we do not recommend driving on the Sport COMP-2s in the snow or even during winter. They’re designed for traction in warm temperatures and will perform very poorly in cold and snow.
How many seasons will these last?
Although the BFGoodrich Sport COMP-2s do not come with a tread life warranty, you can expect to get at least 3 to 4 summers out of them before they need to be replaced. If you drive on them less and maintain them well, you could even get five or more summers out of them!
Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 — Best Winter
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/bridgestone-blizzak-lm-25"}}
For just about any vehicle on the market, from sporty passenger cars up through trucks, the Blizzak tire line from Bridgestone will be the best winter tire on the market. For the tire sizes that come on the EcoSport, there is no exception. The Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 is the best option for winter tires.
With independent tread blocks and specially-designed sipes running across the entire directional tread pattern, the Blizzak LM-25 has hundreds (if not thousands) of dedicated biting edges to dig into ice and snow and provide class-leading traction in the worst winter conditions.
With a 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake Symbol rating, the Blizzak LM-25 is certified for use in the worst winter conditions. So you can rest assured knowing that your Ford EcoSport will have the best winter tire in the business propelling it along in severe snowy conditions.
The Blizzak LM-25 is also a run-flat tire, meaning that even if there’s an issue and it goes completely flat, it can still be driven on to allow drivers to safely make it to the nearest shop or back home without being trapped in the snow and ice.
Offered in sizes from 16” through 22” wheel diameters, it’s easy to find a set that will fit right on the OEM wheels that come on the Ford EcoSport.

Some specifications may vary based on the exact tire size selected.

- Max Inflation Pressure: 44 psi
- Tread Depth: 11/32”
- Tire Weight: 28 lbs
- UTQG Treadwear: N/A
- UTQG Traction: N/A
- UTQG Temperature: N/A
- As a run-flat tire, these can be driven on even with no air in an emergency
- Individual tread blocks and countless sipes create additional biting edges for traction
FAQ
Can I drive on these all year?
While you could drive on these all year, we don’t recommend it. Not only are there far more comfortable and better-performing options to use when it’s not winter, but these will also wear down far quicker during the warmer months and you won’t get much life out of them.
Are they comfortable to drive on?
As far as winter tires go, the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25s are incredibly comfortable and relatively quiet. That said, due to the stiffer compound and biting edges, they will be less comfortable and a little noisier than a regular all-season touring tire.
Why is there no tread life warranty?
Many winter tires on the market, including each option on the Blizzak tire line, don’t include a tread life warranty because they are only meant to be driven on in the winter. If used outside of winter, the tread will wear out very quickly.
Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus — Best Performance Street
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/michelin-pilot-sport-a-s-3-plus"}}
For any Ford EcoSport owners looking for a high-performance tire that they can use all year long, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus (or A/S 3+) is the best option on the market. As a high-performance all-season tire, the A/S 3+ offers traction year-round, it isn't just a dedicated summer tire.
The Extreme Silica+ rubber compound used in this tire combined with the Variable Control Contact Patch 3.0 design, the Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus offers uncompromised traction in all conditions while efficiently distributing load and stress during aggressive driving to enhance control and promote consistent wear.
Its asymmetrical tread pattern and implementation of 3D sipes and circumferential grooves help to direct water away from the center of the tire, resisting hydroplaning on wet roads and increasing traction in all conditions.
Through Michelin’s new Helios+ Technology and the biting edges throughout the tread pattern, the A/S 3+ is able to even provide traction in light snow and ice. For a tire capable of so much warm-weather performance, this is unheard of.
Offered in many sizes including both 16” and 17” wheel diameters, the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ is easy to swap onto a Ford EcoSport and immediately increases the car’s performance.

Some specifications may vary based on the exact tire size selected.

- UTQG Temperature: A

FAQ
Are these summer tires?
The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ is an all-season tire, not just a dedicated summer tire! So rest assured knowing that you can leave these on your EcoSport all year and have reliable traction while still getting higher performance.
How are these better than the old A/S 3?
Michelin included their Helios+ Technology in the A/S 3+, which provides a staggering 28% increase in traction on roads covered with snow and ice over the original Pilot Sport A/S 3. It also has an improved tread compound and construction to make it a better all-around tire.
What is the tread life warranty?
Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus tires come with a 45,000-mile tread life warranty. While that’s certainly lower than a standard all-season tire, the tread compound was designed with a combination of performance and longevity in mind, which lowers it to the 45,000 miles we see here.
Pirelli Cinturato P7 All-Season Plus — Best Highway
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/pirelli-cinturato-p7-all-season-plus"}}
Ask anyone in the tire industry about Pirelli tires, and chances are high that two of the words that you’ll hear will be comfort and performance. As the makers of some of the most awarded performance tires in the world, Pirelli also provides OEM tires for many luxurious brands that demand comfort.
The Pirelli Cinturato P7 All-Season Plus is no exception.
Overall, the Cinturato P7 can be described as a high-quality touring and highway tire that’s also capable of providing responsive handling and adequate performance in all driving conditions. It’s a tire capable of doing a lot of things at a high-level, edging out the competition as the best highway tire for a Ford EcoSport.
The P7 comes with computer-enhanced pitch sequencing that reduces road noise and vibration, leading to an extremely comfortable ride. It also has an optimized tread profile that reduces rolling resistance and therefore increases fuel-efficiency.
To ensure reliable traction in poor conditions, the Cinturato P7 uses multiple wide circumferential grooves as well as lateral grooves to channel water away from the center of the tire and promote traction on wet roads and even in light snow conditions.

Some specifications may vary based on the exact tire size selected.
- Warranty: 70,000 miles

FAQ
What is the tread life warranty?
The Pirelli Cinturato P7 comes with a 70,000-mile tread life warranty. Designed for luxurious comfort and extended life, the P7 is an incredible highway touring tire that just barely lost out to the CS5 Ultra Touring above as the best overall touring tire.
What sizes are offered?
The Cinturato P7 is offered in most tire sizes that include 16” wheels up through 20” wheels. For the Ford EcoSport, the P7 is offered in both OEM sizes — 205/60R16 and 205/50R17.
Can this tire be driven on in the snow?
The Cinturato P7 from Pirelli is a top-tier all-season tire, capable of providing traction year-round including even in light snow. Rest assured knowing that it can be used safely in light snow and ice, but a dedicated winter tire will always outperform all-season tires in the snow.
Westlake SA07 — Best Temporary Spare
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/westlake-sa07-sport"}}
As any Ford EcoSport owners can tell you, the EcoSport actually does not come with a spare from the factory. Not even a donut spare, much less a full-size one. So if there’s ever a flat tire, EcoSport owners need to have their vehicle towed.
To prevent this, we recommend getting a cheap wheel and tire setup to be used as a temporary spare in the event of a tire mishap so you aren’t stranded. And in the sizes that come on the EcoSport, the Westlake SA07 is a perfect choice.
Westlake is known for providing affordable all-season tires that get the job done, making them the perfect tire for a temporary spare on an EcoSport. The SA07 is Westlake’s sporty tire, an all-season tire capable of handling what the Ford EcoSport can throw at it.
Its symmetrical tread pattern and circumferential grooves help the SA07 maintain traction and grip in dry and wet conditions while simultaneously directing water away from the tire to reduce the chance of hydroplaning.
Due to its price and versatility, the Westlake SA07 is a perfect temporary spare tire, and can even be used by anyone with an EcoSport looking for a cheap set of tires during tough times. But we wouldn’t recommend it over any of the above options to be your first choice.
Specifications
Some specifications may vary based on the exact tire size selected.
- Warranty: 45,000 miles
- Max Load Capacity: 1,709 lbs
- Max Inflation Pressure: 44 psi
- Tread Depth: 10/32”
- Tire Weight: 24 lbs
- UTQG Treadwear: 500
- UTQG Traction: A
- UTQG Temperature: A
- Very affordable all-season tire that’s perfect for use as a full-size spare
- Grooves direct water away from contact patch to reduce hydroplaning
FAQ
Why is the Westlake a good temporary spare?
Temporary spares need to be two things — affordable and reliable. A full-size spare is always far more reliable than a donut or space-saver spare, and the Westlake SA07 is far more affordable than any other option in this guide.
What about the Westlake RP18?
Westlake’s other popular all-season tire for passenger cars, the RP18 is a great choice for a temporary spare as well. The only issue is that it isn’t made in the 205/50R17 size that comes on many EcoSports, but it is made in 205/60R16 for those models. If it will fit, it’s an even cheaper option than the SA07.
What is the tread life warranty?
The SA07 from Westlake comes with a 45,000-mile tread life warranty. For a temporary spare, the tread life warranty shouldn’t really come into play in most cases, and it will likely need to be replaced due to age long before the tread wears out on you.
Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus — OEM Tire
{{tire-info-with-links="/tire/bridgestone-ecopia-ep422"}}
The Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus (or EP422+) is an OEM tire designed to last a long time and provide drivers with increased fuel efficiency over its lifetime. As far as OEM tires go, the Ecopia EP422+ is about as good as it gets in most cases as it’s a great tire in its own right.
With Bridgestone’s NanoPro Technology built in, the rolling resistance of the tire is reduced which increases the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. This works in conjunction with the special tread compound that resists wear and enables the Ecopia Ep422+ to last for 70,000 miles or more.
Circumferential grooves and notches and sipes are used within the all-season tread pattern to channel water away from the tire’s contact patch and provide excellent traction in both wet and dry conditions.
To make them even more fuel-efficient, the Ecopia EP422+ utilizes Bridgestone’s specially-designed Fuel Saver compound in the side walls to reduce deflection and deformation and further increase fuel economy.
As the OEM tire option on the EcoSport, finding a new set once the original ones wear out will be a breeze.

Can I put different tires on when the OEM ones wear out?
Yes, absolutely! You can always change out the type of tire that’s on your vehicle when they wear out, and the Ford EcoSport is no exception. While these are great OEM tires, we recommend one of our above suggestions as replacements once these wear out.
Are these good OEM tires?
As far as OEM tires go, the Bridgestone Ecopia EP422+ is a great option. With its long-lasting tread compound, comfort-enhancing features, and all-season reliability, the Ecopia EP422+ is a high-quality OEM tire that Ford EcoSport owners are lucky to have from the factory.
Ford EcoSport Tire Sizes
As arguably one of the easiest cars on the market to figure out the correct tire size for, the Ford EcoSport has only had two sizes offered during its three years (and counting) of being offered in the US:
- 205/60R16
- 205/50R17
Although the EcoSport has been offered overseas on and off since 2013, it has only been available in North America (which includes the US) since the 2018 model year. So thankfully it’s a bit easier to figure out the tire size since there’s only three years’ worth of sizes — and only two sizes — to go off of! So if you know the year and trim level of your EcoSport, use the table below to find your tire size:
